Every Jobcenter form — which one, and when

What usually delays a Jobcenter decision is not a wrong figure. It is a missing annex. The main application on its own is almost never enough: it asks about the household, the address and the bank account, and leaves housing, income and savings to separate sheets. The file arrives incomplete, a letter goes back asking for the rest, and weeks are lost.

This page gathers every form in one place, in the order they are actually filled in, with one line each telling you whether it applies to you.

The order to fill them in

1 — The main application, HA
Always first, once for the whole household, in the name of one person who represents it. Their own details go in here, so they need no separate person annex. How the main application is filled in.

2 — Anlage WEP, for every other person aged 15 or over
A spouse, a grown child, anyone living with you who counts as part of the household. One copy per person, not one for everybody. The Anlage WEP explained.

3 — Anlage KI, for every child under 15
One copy per child. Kindergeld and any maintenance from the other parent belong here, and leaving them out is the commonest reason a decision is later corrected and money reclaimed. The Anlage KI explained.

4 — Anlage KDU, housing and heating
Once per household. Without it the decision covers living costs only and the housing figure stays empty. The Anlage KDU explained.

5 — Anlage EK, for every person with income
Wages, a small job, a pension, rent coming in. No income, no annex. The Anlage EK explained.

6 — Anlage VM, savings and property
One per person in the household: bank accounts, a car, gold, property. Each person has an allowance set by age, and anything under it does not stop the payment — but it still has to be declared. The Anlage VM explained.

What to attach

The tenancy agreement and the latest heating statement, three months of bank statements for each person, payslips where there is income, the Kindergeld decision, the health insurance card, and proof of identity or residence. Photograph every sheet before handing it in, and keep the receipt or a copy of the email.

Mistakes that keep recurring

Leaving a box empty instead of writing "none": an empty box reads as missing information, not as zero. Filling in one annex for the whole family instead of one per person. Sending the application unsigned, which is the fastest way to have the file come straight back. And applying late: the payment runs from the first day of the month the application was made, not from the day the need began.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hand in the main application alone and send the annexes later?
Yes, and it is worth doing if the month is nearly over, because the date of application decides when entitlement starts. The decision itself will wait for the annexes.

Who gets an Anlage WEP and who gets an Anlage KI?
The line is the fifteenth birthday: aged 15 or over is a WEP, under 15 is a KI.

I have small savings — do I declare them?
Yes. Each person has an allowance set by age, and anything under it does not stop the payment. Hiding the amount turns a simple matter into a repayment later.

Do the forms still apply after the name changed?
Yes. Grundsicherungsgeld replaced Bürgergeld on 01.07.2026, the forms and online services stayed as they were, and existing decisions remained valid — which is why some sheets still carry the name Bürgergeld.
